You will be responsible for performing the duties of a TV Host in all areas for the current-affairs program Maamuitaau, in the Quebec James Bay Cree language and in keeping with Corporation standards and policies.

For reference purposes, the successful candidate will need to be available to travel to Cree communities and may work on flexible schedule, as evenings and weekends.

12-month contract position with possible extension.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Five years of on-air experience or the equivalent
  • Complete command of the Quebec James Bay Cree language
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written French and English
  • Knowledge and interest in aboriginal issues and events
  • Knowledge of regional and national current affairs as they relate to the James Bay Cree
  • Good grasp of interview techniques
  • On-air presence and ease
  • Able to analyze, synthesize and think critically
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Leadership
  • The host will have a curious and engaging on-air personality
  • The host will be an experienced and comfortable broadcaster with a strong affinity and interest in his audience
  • Availability to travel across the province of Quebec to smaller communities.
