Position: Host - Current Affairs Program
Location: ACCESS - Edmonton, Alberta
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours of Work:
40 Hours per week plus overtime as required. Must be available to work evenings on a regular, ongoing basis.
Responsibilities:
Host daily, live studio-based interactive magazine style current affairs talk show
Work with team of producers to research, write, report and voice stories
Arrange and conduct in-studio and field interview
Write scripts for daily show and online materials
Contribute strong story ideas
Develop and maintain business contacts and sources
Attend public appearances throughout Alberta
Qualifications:
Graduate from a recognized post secondary broadcast or journalism program or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in the broadcast industry
Strong journalistic and news sensibilities and integrity
Dynamic, entertaining and professional presentation style
Be persistent, resourceful, objective, reliable and creative
Interest in a wide range of current events
Awareness of important local, provincial and national news stories
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to work well under pressure with multiple tight deadlines
Team player with positive, friendly manner
