Job description | : | Curator Term: Full-time Location: Toronto Salary: $40,000 to $60,000 Start Date: Job Description The Curator works with the Senior Curator to manage the Museum’s permanent collection and exhibition program. Specific responsibilities are defined from year to year in consultation with the Senior Curator. The Curator is responsible overseeing and or curating one or more special exhibitions each year, and for giving one or more public lectures as part of the Museum’s adult education program. This full-time position reports to the Senior Curator. This position works in association with the Interim Chief Curator, Collections Manager, the Installation Manager, and the Education Program Manager. Requirements •PHD in art history or museum studies, some knowledge of ceramics a plus •At least three years’ experience working in museum and/or gallery environment •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Familiarity with museum operations and collections management a plus •Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to a broad range of people •Willingness to work collaboratively and a commitment to meeting deadlines •Flexibility and a good sense of humor Additional Information For detailed posting, see: http://www.gardinermuseum.on.ca/about-us/job-openings |
