Position: Theatrical Publicist
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Summary:
The Theatrical Publicist will be responsible for garnering and facilitating publicity for all E1 theatrical releases, in all media, in key markets. He/she will also execute junkets, PA, TIFF and events as required.
The Theatrical Publicist has the responsibility of building and maintaining strong relationships with press, filmmakers, agencies and coworkers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Garner publicity for E1 theatrical releases with a particular focus on the key markets
- Draft and distribute press releases related to E1 theatrical distribution
- Play a significant role in the publicity strategy for the theatrical release slate by contributing ideas and offering creative input
- Participating in all publicity related facets of the Toronto International Film Festival and other events including the Genies and Canada's Top Ten
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Canadian film and entertainment media
- Coordinate press days and junkets
- Assist Publicity with additional projects as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years publicity experience in film or entertainment, at a publicist level
- Degree in public relations or communications
- Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Creative and strategic thinker
