Community Outreach Co-Ordinator(subject to Government funding)
ANDPVA’s mission is to help create, support and develop a self-sufficient community of Indigenous artists who preserve our traditional knowledge, advance our respective cultural identities and reflect our evolving cultural expression.
Education/Experience
• 1-2 years Post Secondary education or equivalent work experience in an arts organization
• Knowledge of the Aboriginal Communities in Ontario
• A demonstrated commitment to and passion for the arts and/or community/nonprofit organizations
• Technical knowledge of computers and Word Processing programs
Skills and Abilities
• Assist in the coordination of events throughout the year (including but not limited to) The Creator Within – Gathering of Indigenous Artistic Expressions, Annual General Meeting, Monthly workshops, Yearly Fundraiser and Gallery Show Openings.
• Design and maintain a promotional campaign for all events
• Develop and oversee a volunteer recruitment campaign
• Be spokesperson/liaison at special events, workshops and fundraising campaigns that raise public awareness of ANDPVA
• Imports all contact lists into database – Membership/Artists/Organization/Media
• Work in accordance with company procedures, as set out in the relevant policies and procedures manual
• Provides written reports on a monthly basis on training and progress to the Executive Director
• Performs routine office and administrative tasks as required
Start Date: June 1, 2009
Duration: 44 weeks
Salary Range: $15.00 hour. This project is funded by the generous support of Miziwe Biik Employment and Training.

Management Trainee

• Assists the ANDPVA board of directors and subsequent committees with note taking, policy documentation and implementation
• Works with Executive Director to prepare funding Proposals and Reports
• Assists in the revision of operational/organizational manuals
• Works with the Resource Library Coordinator to organize ANDPVA financial and historical documentation through previously developed archiving guidelines.
• Schedules and requests contracts for program participants, trainers, Elders and program staff as required
• Provides written reports on a monthly basis on training and progress to the Executive Director
• Communicates effectively with member and external partners using written and verbal reports
• Work in accordance with company procedures, as set out in the policies and procedures manual
• Assist in the overall daily operations of ANDPVA programs and Services
Start Date: June 1, 2009
Duration: 44 weeks
